Finish Strong

Good Afternoon,

Today we talked about finishing our school year strong.  So I would like to commit to finishing this blog strong!

Today we had an all school Morning Meeting to review expectations in the hallway, lunch room, and bathroom.

We spent some time in our own classroom reviewing our rules, and figuring out our new circle spots, carpet squares, and table spots!  How exciting!

This afternoon we had SMART time and work our fine motor muscles with these materials:

Ask your child to explain each activity.

Then we explored a variety of measuring tools during math today including, 6-in. rulers, 12-in. rulers, yard sticks, meter sticks, and tape measures!  We practiced measuring with three different tools.

Our vet's clinic turned into a Pizzeria over break!

Have a wonderful evening!

L is for Lots of Learning

Good Afternoon,

We are busy, busy packing in as much as we can before we leave for Spring Break!  This morning we worked on listening for the ending sounds in words.

We also focused on the letter L,l and the sound it makes.  We sang songs about the letter L,l and found the letter in the poem, Mary Had a Little Lamb.

This afternoon we celebrated Mary Kate's birthday!

We worked on counting by 5's and both writing and counting tally marks during our math lesson.

We explored the kindergarten online resources suring computer time and talked about dealing with distractions during our kindness lesson!

Tomorrow is the final day of the food drive!  If every student donates 2 food items, we will meet our school goal!

Have a great evening!

Love,
Mrs. Huettl

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We had a lot of green in our classroom today!  We had a full day of learning, with some extra fun tossed in. :)

During our calendar math time, we sang a fun song about a leprechaun who counts his gold by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's!

Our sight words this week are the color words.  We wrote the color words and painted a rainbow, using marshmallows and toothpicks!

They turned out beautiful!

This afternoon we observed and graphed the marshmallows from Lucky Charms cereal!  Yum-o!!!

We also added RAZ Kids to our choice time during Daily 5 (Literacy Workshop)!!!  What a great day!

Have a wonderful evening!

Love,
Mrs. Huettl
