Thankful

Good Afternoon,

I apologize for not posting with last Tuesday's activities!  We had a great time adding our two new poems to our poem notebooks!

We also finished our symmetry turkeys.

In guided reading, we continue to work on words in the -at and -an families.  Here we made a list of real words and nonsense words in the -at family.

Today we got back into the swing of things.  We discussed new vocabulary, started new word work choices, and read our new story for the week.

In math we practiced writing our numbers 1-3.

We are working a lot on "teaching" our neighbors.  Your brain can understand and process information better when you are able to teach someone else.  We are working on, "Teach-OK."  Ask your child about this tonight.

Another new addition to our classroom is the Super Improver Wall.  With the Super Improver Wall, students are rewarded for their academic and social behavior improvements.  They are in competition with themselves!  Students are able to move through ten levels of super improvers, the first four are pictured below.

And of course, it was great to be back with our friends again!

Have a wonderful evening!

Love,
Mrs. Huettl
