Blends

Good Afternoon!

We had a great day in kindergarten!

We started our new April calendar.  New calendar days are always exciting.  They are full of new songs and calendar activities :)

We also celebrated Charlotte's Birthday!!!

This morning we introduced consonant blends: 2 or more consonants in a row whose sounds blend together.  Check out the chart we made together:

Then we went on a consonant blend hunt and had to find all the blends in our new poem.  This was a challenge!  Some blends are at the beginning of words and some are at the end!

During journal time we started making our own mini-books.  Ask your child to tell you about what should be included on each page of their story. (pg.1-character & setting, pg.2-problem, pg. 3-solution)

This afternoon we graphed the pets that our friends have!  We learned that we have fifteen dogs and zero birds in our classroom!  We made the graph on our board:

Then we returned to our tables to draw a pet from the graph and answer a question using the data we collected!
