Snow Ball Fight

Good Afternoon,

We had a busy morning today!  We reviewed our number words and completed a project that coincides with our story, One Little Mouse.  Ask your child to retell the first part of our story using this flip book that is coming home today.

We also revisited consonant blends by having a "snowball fight."  We threw pieces of paper around and then when it was time to freeze, we had to read the word on our "snowball" and determine if the blend was at the beginning or end of the word.  We surprised ourselves with some of the words we could decode!

During journals we continued to work on our stories.  We talked about weaving characters and setting into our story, rather than stating, "My character is a dog.  My story takes place outside."  Instead we are working on this:   "Once there was a dog who was going for a walk outside."  We are getting to be great writers!!!

Have a wonderful afternoon!

Love,
Mrs. Huettl
