Good Afternoon!
What a fun and highly eventful day!!! We started our by taking our class picture this morning with all members of our classroom family present and accounted for! Thank you again for all your cooperation and understanding. Here is a sneak peek:
No sooner did we get back from our picture when the Mendota Heights Fire Department arrived! We learned about how to safely exit a building that is on fire, what number to call in an emergency, and the importance of smoke detectors in our houses.
We also watched Mrs. Rall put on all of the firemen gear!!!
We were able to go outside and check out the firetruck. We even walked through the inside of the truck!
The best part was when the firemen ate lunch with us!!!
We met with our buddies today too! We played a math game on a 100 grid:
We also read a story Fire Dog, Fire Dog (similar to Brown Bear, Brown Bear). These books came home in BEE folders today so check them out.
This afternoon we worked in our journals and then ventured outside to meet, observe, and document our kindergarten tree. We will be planted the Japanese Lilac tree on Tuesday afternoon next week.
We took a class picture with our tree (can you tell it was really sunny at the time?)
I hope to see many of you this evening at the Family Fun Night Hoedown. I will be directing traffic for the hayride for the first half, and then walking around with my girls the second half, so make sure to say "Hi!"
Have a great weekend!
Love, Mrs. Huettl
