This morning something very exciting happened!!! Mrs. Huettl started meeting with guided reading groups! One student exclaimed, "Yes! Now we can learn to read the words, not just the pictures!" The excitement for learning to read is high in here and that is just where we want it! Keep up the reading enthusiasm at home parents!
We also focused a lot on syllables this morning. We made Syllable Soup. Students picked a food item from the Cub ad and glued it into their soup pot. Then we wrote the name of our food (the sounds we hear) and the number of syllables in the word! These pages will be put together in a class book and sent home to all families to read. We will also have this book at conferences for your viewing :)
This afternoon we work really hard in our journals. Then we partnered up and shared our journals. We are proud of all the work we have done!
