Good Afternoon,
Today we took advantage of the great weather and took our learning outdoors. We played a game matching upper and lowercase letters out on the front lawn. Students were given a lowercase letter card and had to match it with an uppercase letter that was attached to a cone. Once we got into our letter groups we shared the sounds the letters make with the rest of the group.
We talked about character today and made a great chart (forgot to take a picture! I'll post one tomorrow) Characters are the people, animals, or creatures in a story.
For math today we started our pattern centers. We followed and extended patterns with snap cubes:
Patterns with links:
Patterns with pattern blocks:
and pattern books with crayons and daubers.
For science today, we again took our learning outside. We were scientists and recorded our observations of trees at school in our Science Notebooks.
This afternoon we wrote a sentence in our journals using our new words, I am...
Have a great evening!
Love,
Mrs. Huettl
