Good Afternoon-
We are all a bit wet, a bit cold, but mostly excited about the tree we planted today! This morning was spent in anticipation of our afternoon tree planting (and for Mrs. Huettl-watching the sky hoping for the slight mist to continue and not open up into full out rain!) Nevertheless, we ventured out as the mist turned to rain to plant our tree. We started our ceremony by reviewing the things a tree needs to survive and the parts of a tree.
Then we took turns adding soil to our tree.
We also ran across the field to get mulch from the mulch pile.
Once we returned to the inside shelter, we made a parts of a tree flag book. This book can be read page by page, or can be pulled into a tree poster! Super fun!
We went to Mrs. Redding classroom to make a fall tree art project.
Prior to all this excitement, we talked a lot about numbers this morning. We flashed different numbers of fingers and found out that there are several ways to show the same number. Here are some friends all showing different ways to make the number 4.
We also compared lengths and found things in our room that are taller than us, and things in the classroom that are shorter than us!
It was also Bring Your Parent to Lunch day!!!
Hopefully you get the chance to dry off and warm up this evening! See you tomorrow!
Love,
Mrs. Huettl
