You will notice some posts are not updated until later in the evening. On days when I have meetings after school, it makes it difficult to get the blog updated before leaving.
Your children continue to amaze me with their excitement for school and learning! This morning we had our first "under the sea" task on our morning message. When students came in, they had to find their name on the message board and circle it.
After our morning meeting, we had a guided discovery with our scissors. We cut straight lines, zig-zag lines, and curvy lines. We chose from our paper scraps and made a crown. We could choose a headband, a prince/princess, a pirate, or a pirate prince/princess.
This afternoon we started to talk about writing. We talked about how we use straight lines and curvy lines to make letters. We practiced writing different types of lines and some of us even wrote some letters! After our writing time, we had the opportunity to share our work with our friends. Look for your child's writing in his/her BEE Book.
During choice time today we opened up two more areas of our classroom. We now have Legos and class library as choices!
Throughout our day we do cheers when things are going well, or if someone does something amazing! Yesterday we learned the Train Whistle cheer. Today we practiced the Fireworks cheer. Here is a video of the Fireworks cheer:
